With the help of a Kickstarter campaign, Haas&hahn; were able to initiate the ‘Back to Rio’ project. In 2013, Haas&hahn; the campaign was launched. A serious gun battle in 2014 temporarily halted the work and also caused them to relocate several times. Initially six local young people were hired to take part. Later in the projects twenty-five young people from the favela were trained in painting and art techniques. The Kickstarter budget has also allowed the foundation to keep on going and kickstart other projects.
